Story Dream Machine
Little Tikes wanted to get into storytime play and challenged our team to develop an item for this new electronics toy category. What we designed was an affordable item that speaks to the nostalgia parents and grandparents have for the reading toys of the 70s and 80s. Our goal was to design a product that avoided complicated mobile pairing, apps, or screen time that complicate the function and increased the cost for the competitors in this space. We wanted to center the play pattern around learning to read—without kids realizing it.

Tobi Robot Smartwatch
I lead the development of the hardware and software for Little Tikes breakout youth electronics hit: Tobi Robot Smartwatch. #1 Best Selling Little Tikes item for 2020 and #4 on NPD Best Seller in Youth Electronics for 2020 overall.

Gear Heads Toys
This was a crazy idea I had for a fun keychain sized robotic caricature of a Marvel character that popped into a vehicle that complimented the nature and personality of the each character. These were one of my favorite prototypes to make and they worked really well.

Switchgear Toys
This fun action vehicle line features common vehicles that transform into cool assault vehicles that reflect the personalities of the featured Avenger.

Blitzwheel Toys
I was challenged to create a new motorized vehicle toy that was like nothing else out there.

Stomp Rockets Toys
Stomp Rockets with a twist! Launch your favorite Marvel hero into battle by land or air. The patented launcher twists around to launch the rocket sled, a motorcycle or a monster truck.

Marvel Hulk Smashzooka
Designed and built prototypes of a giant foam fist launcher branded with The Incredible Hulk. This thing was crazy fun to make.

F1 Fly Racer
The concept was based on the premise of a box wing aircraft and its similarity to an F-1 Racer. I tried to make both parts of the toy look good and function too. As a car it was RC, with a button on the controller to launch the jet which contained two motors powered by a capacitor that charged up when plugged into the car chassis.

Spyder Paintball
I worked on concept design for several paintball markers and accessories for Spyder, here are a few that I rather liked…

Explore Scientific
Explore Scientific makes telescopes and other optics for the amateur and enthusiast astronomer. I designed these items for their kid's line; Explore one

Adventure Scope
Challenged to create a fun spy toy with an edutainment angle. Its rugged, has a large screen and the camera can go underwater.

Educational & Preschool
I designed some licensed items for Leap Frog. I illustrated the product for the Mosaics and Paint Dabbers as well.
At Lakeshore Learning Materials, I lead the effort to rebrand the company’s product and packaging leading to a 400% increase in sales in 10 years.

Children's Book
At about the time I found out I would be having a baby girl, I was asked to illustrate a Nursery Rhymes book. The girl in the moon was me imagining my future daughter. Who knew that Twinkle, Twinkle would become her favorite song once she came along.
